Meet Recap

The PG squared swimmer are continuing to make waves as they crushed the competition at the Cougar Relays last Saturday at Jainesville Craig High School. Greenfield/Greendale Pius XI won the meet with 184 point as Janesville Parker came in second place in the 6 team invite with 158.

The local favorites won 6 of the 12 relays events, and medaled in an additional 3 relays. Head Coach Dale Schrank was very pleased with the weekend. “We had a number of really impressive swims with some of our newer swimmers, and the veterans stepped up and did what they needed to do.”

Freshman Collin Hassel and David Turner both walked away from the meet with lifetime best efforts. “Turner’s Backstroke split of 1:07.01 in the Backstroke relay earned him “swimmer of the meet” honors from the coaching staff” commented Schrank.

Veterans Ben Davis, Isaac Jiardini, Harrison Stasik, Carmelo Patti, Jackson Zgola and Steve Novinska, all teamed up to win6 of the 12 events in the meet. Ryan Haessly, Dominic Cory, Brandon Washburn and Matt Ballman rounded out the wins for the PG squared squad.

“This meet is a great race rehearsal for the Woodland Conference Relay Championships on Wednesday evening at Cudahy High School. If we can keep all our relays legal, we should be in a good position to challenge for the title.” said Schrank.

Conference Relay action starts at 6:30 pm.
