Greenfield High School hosted the Woodland Conference Wrestling Tournament and the Hawks battled to a 6th place finish at the 11 team event. The Hustlin’ Hawks sent three wrestlers to the finals and two others competed in the medal round. Theren Madson earned a 6th place finish at 106lbs, and Ryan Nowak recorded a pin in his last match to earn a 5th place finish at 182lbs.

Jake Christensen pinned his way to the finals, earning falls in the quarterfinals and semifinals, before earning the silver medal at 145lbs. Sophomore, Marcellus Satterfield punched his ticket to the finals, by grinding out a hard fought victory over Pewaukee’s Aidan Impola by a score of 4-3, before earning the silver medal at 152lbs.

Skyler Gill-Howard continued his winning ways earning the gold medal at 220lbs. Skyler would pin each of his opponents in the first period in the quarter and semifinal rounds before receiving a forfeit victory over Pewaukee’s P.J. Cullen in the final at 220lbs.

Next up the for the Hawks is the Regional Tournament at Whitnall High School next Saturday (2/15), with wrestling scheduled to start at 10:30am. The JV team will travel to Pewaukee this Wednesday, to compete at JV Conference, with wrestling scheduled to start at 5:00pm.
