Mike Kubes

Mike Kubes is entering his 2nd year being the Head Coach for the Hustlin Hawks.  In his first year at Greenfield, Coach Kubes lead the Hustlin Hawks to their first playoff appearance in a decade.  Prior to GHS, Coach Kubes has been roaming the sideline for 20 years of coaching both at the collegiate and high school level.  Coach Kubes’s previous stops include Franklin High School, Pewaukee High School, Eau Claire Memorial, Milwaukee Washington High School, and The University of North Dakota.  

Some highlights of Mike’s coaching career include being part of the coaching staff that helped lead the Franklin Sabers to the 2016 Division One state title game against Kimberly, being named to 2008 City Conference Coach of the Year, coaching multiple collegiate all-conference and all-American athletes, and coaching the Fighting Hawks of North Dakota in the Great West Conference Championship game against UC-Davis in 2009.

Coach Kubes prides himself on the relationships that he forms with his players and the level of commitment that he provides to Greenfield High School.

Kubes was an offensive lineman at Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he helped the Blugolds win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in 2001. He graduated from UWEC with a bachelor's degree in physical education in 2005.

Mike and his wife, Annie, have two sons, Finnegan (8) and Maclin (5), and reside in Milwaukee.
