The Greenfield Girls Basketball team delivered a complete performance on Tuesday night, earning a commanding 71–30 victory over Shorewood and showcasing their depth, defensive intensity, and balanced scoring.
From the opening tip, the Hustlin' Hawks set the tone on both ends of the floor. Greenfield's pressure defense limited Shorewood's offensive opportunities while forcing turnovers and controlling the glass, allowing the Hawks to build a steady lead that only grew as the game progressed.
Senior Ella Cruz led all scorers with an impressive 22 points, shooting efficiently from the field and knocking down four three-pointers. Cruz also added rebounds and played a key role defensively, setting the pace for Greenfield throughout the night.
Greenfield's offensive balance was on full display, with Jayda Easley contributing 15 points, including three triples, and Olivia Hoedel and Armani Tauschek each adding 8 points. Gabriella Arteaga chipped in 8 points on an efficient shooting night, while Marija Suha added 6 points to round out a strong team effort.
The Hawks finished the game shooting over 50% from the floor and an impressive 42% from three-point range, while holding Shorewood to just 30 points overall. Greenfield also won the rebounding battle and consistently turned defensive stops into transition opportunities.
With contributions from up and down the roster and a strong defensive showing, Greenfield continues to build momentum as the season progresses. The Hustlin' Hawks will look to carry this energy and execution into their upcoming matchups as conference play continues.
