The Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks varsity softball team showcased grit and offensive effort but ultimately fell to West Allis, 7-3, on Wednesday, May 14.

Despite the loss, Greenfield put together a strong hitting performance, tallying 10 hits on the night. Leading the charge at the plate was Cali Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with three total bases and a run scored. Maya Hornung also made her presence felt, collecting two hits—including a double—and driving in two of the Hawks' three runs.

Naomi Kleczynski chipped in with a 2-hit outing and a run scored, while Erin Brielmaier, Calla Gbur, and Jasmine Lasky each added hits to round out the offensive effort. Brielmaier also recorded a sacrifice fly, contributing an RBI to the scoreboard.

On the mound, Jasmine Lasky started for Greenfield, pitching 5 innings and allowing 7 runs—5 of them earned—while striking out two. Hornung came in for relief and delivered a strong inning, giving up no runs and striking out two.

Greenfield mounted a late-game push, plating all three of their runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but the early lead built by West Allis proved too much to overcome.

The Hawks look to bounce back in their next matchup and continue building on their offensive momentum.
