The Greenfield Hawks softball team delivered an impressive all-around performance Tuesday night, rolling to a commanding 15-1 victory over Cudahy in five innings.
Greenfield's offense came alive early and never slowed down, scoring in four consecutive innings while piling up 12 hits and aggressively attacking the bases throughout the game.
Erin Brielmaier led the way offensively with a huge night at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with five RBIs, including two triples. Naomi Kleszczynski sparked the offense from the leadoff spot, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases. Cali Rodriguez also turned in a strong performance, finishing with two hits, three runs scored, and two RBIs.
Calla Gbur added two hits, two RBIs, and a stolen base, while Grace Mysilwy contributed a hit and scored a run. Kiley Noe added an RBI single, and the Hawks continued to pressure the defense all game with aggressive baserunning and patient at-bats.
Greenfield broke the game open with a five-run second inning before adding another five runs in the third. The Hawks also drew nine walks as a team and finished with five stolen bases.
Inside the circle, Greenfield combined for a no-hitter. Naomi Kleszczynski earned the win, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing no hits. Brielmaier closed out the game with three innings of work and two strikeouts.
Defensively, the Hawks limited Cudahy to just one run while continuing to apply pressure throughout the game.
Greenfield will look to carry the momentum into its next matchup as the Hawks continue conference play.
