The Greenfield softball team battled back from an early deficit Monday night to earn a 5-2 victory over St. Thomas More. After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Hawks responded with a strong finish, scoring five unanswered runs over the final three innings.

Calla Gbur led the offensive effort with a huge day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two stolen bases, and a double. Cali Rodriguez added a hit and a stolen base, while Grace Mysilwy, Erin Brielmaier, Lina Gonzalez, and Naomi Kleszczynski each contributed hits for the Hawks.

Greenfield broke through in the fifth inning with two runs before erupting for three more in the seventh to seal the win. Jamie Murray helped spark the offense by crossing the plate twice.

In the circle, Naomi Kleszczynski earned the complete-game victory, allowing just four hits and one earned run across seven innings. She finished with two strikeouts while throwing 53 strikes over 81 pitches.

Defensively, the Hawks worked through a pair of errors but came up with timely plays throughout the game to hold St. Thomas More scoreless over the final six innings.

Greenfield finished with eight hits and continued to show resilience and timely hitting in the conference victory.
