The Greenfield softball team battled tough against Elkhorn on Tuesday, falling 9-3 in regional action. Despite the result, the Hawks continued to compete throughout the game and showed resilience at the plate and in the circle.
Erin Brielmaier paced the offense with a strong performance, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Cali Rodriguez, Jamie Murray, and Ava Jackson each added hits for Greenfield, while Calla Gbur and Grace Mysilwy scored runs for the Hawks.
In the circle, Erin Brielmaier started the game and worked four innings, while senior Naomi Kleszczynski came in relief and struck out three over the final two innings.
Greenfield finished with five hits as a team and continued to battle until the final out. The Hawks now look ahead to building on the progress and experiences gained throughout the season.
