It was a gritty effort from the Greenfield Girls Flag Football team last night, despite a tough 32–6 loss against Muskego Red.
The Hawks came out firing early on defense — Cora Van Gorder set the tone with an electric pick-six, giving Greenfield an early spark. The team showed flashes of strong offensive rhythm throughout the night, moving the ball effectively and finding open lanes. Unfortunately, two potential touchdowns were called back due to penalties, stalling momentum during key drives.
Even with the scoreboard not in their favor, the team's energy and grit stood out. The Hawks also played short-handed, missing a few key contributors who were representing Greenfield on a much bigger stage.
EddieAna Velez, Ashlyn Dobson, Retal Abdelaziz, and Coach Jess traveled to Lambeau Field to compete in the Green Bay Packers' Quarterback Challenge, proudly showcasing Greenfield's talent on a statewide platform.
The Hawks will regroup and look to bounce back stronger next game, continuing to build momentum in this exciting inaugural girls flag football season.
