The Greenfield girls wrestling team delivered a statement performance at the WIAA Regional on Friday, February 13, with all four Hawk wrestlers punching their tickets to Sectionals.
In a sport that continues to grow across Wisconsin, Greenfield proved once again that it belongs among the contenders — advancing 100% of its lineup and showcasing depth, dominance, and championship grit.
?? Four Regional Champions
Each Greenfield wrestler battled through the bracket to earn a first-place finish in her respective weight class.
Xiong entered the tournament with a 40-10 record and showed why she's one of the most dangerous competitors in the bracket. After advancing through early rounds, she secured a semifinal technical fall (18-3) before finishing the championship match in dominant fashion with a pin in 35 seconds. Her composure and explosiveness were on full display.
Wagner (30-16) powered through her bracket, earning a decisive 4-0 decision in the semifinals before sealing the title with a fall in 2:49 in the championship match. Her steady pace and control on top proved to be the difference all night long.
Solis (37-12) delivered a strong semifinal performance with a pin in 5:24 and followed it up with another fall in 5:19 in the championship match. Wrestling with confidence and aggression, Solis controlled her positioning and capitalized when it mattered most.
Freshman Stephanie Rodriguez (21-5) continues to impress in her debut season. After earning a semifinal pin in 3:05, Rodriguez secured the regional crown with another fall in 3:00 in the title match. Wrestling beyond her years, she has quickly become a force in the upper weights.
Building Momentum
Advancing all four wrestlers to Sectionals speaks volumes about the strength and development of Greenfield's girls wrestling program. With experience across the lineup — including three juniors and a standout freshman — the Hawks are carrying both confidence and momentum into the next round.
Sectionals are set for Friday, January 20, where Greenfield will look to continue its postseason run and push toward the ultimate goal: a trip to the WIAA State Tournament.
Greenfield girls wrestling isn't just participating — they're competing for titles.
Let's go, Hawks.
