Greenfield Boys Tennis Shines in Competitive Round-Robin Tournament

The Greenfield boys tennis team delivered a strong showing in a competitive four-team round-robin tournament, facing off against Sheboygan Falls, Elkhorn, and Milwaukee King under a unique points-based scoring system.

Each flight contributed to the overall team score, with additional points awarded for straight-set victories—placing an emphasis on both consistency and dominance across the lineup. Using the traditional dual format as a comparison, Greenfield finished the day with a 1–2 record:

  • Narrow loss to Sheboygan Falls, 3–4
  • Narrow loss to Elkhorn, 3–4
  • Strong win over Milwaukee King, 4–3

Despite the close dual results, Greenfield's depth and ability to secure key set wins propelled them to a 2nd place overall finish in the tournament standings:

  1. Milwaukee King — 39 points
  2. Greenfield — 30 points
  3. Sheboygan Falls — 29 points
  4. Elkhorn — 28 points

The Hawks were led by a number of standout performances throughout the day. The doubles lineup proved especially reliable, consistently earning critical points across multiple matches. In addition, several players stepped up in clutch moments, battling through intense three-set matches to secure pivotal wins that ultimately impacted the team's final standing.

Beyond the competition, the event provided a memorable experience for the team. Playing under the lights created an electric atmosphere and added a unique energy to the matches, making it a day the players won't soon forget.

Greenfield continues to build momentum as the season progresses, showcasing resilience, depth, and the ability to compete with some of the top programs in the area.
