The Greenfield boys tennis team faced a tough test on April 7th, taking on a strong Wauwatosa West squad. Despite a 6-1 final team score, the Hawks showed resilience and competitiveness throughout the lineup, highlighted by a strong doubles victory.
In singles play, Greenfield ran into a deep and experienced Wauwatosa West roster. At #1 singles, Caleb Laatsch fell to Leo Hanlon (0-6, 0-6). Ali Khan (#2) competed against Charly Hue (0-6, 0-6), while Steven Rehak (#3) faced Luke Grove (1-6, 1-6). Trevor Schueller delivered one of the most competitive singles performances of the day at #4, pushing Max Kuhn in a tight first set before falling 5-7, 3-6.
Doubles play provided a bright spot for the Hawks. The #1 doubles team of Vincent Ortega and Christian Dams-Murillo secured Greenfield's lone victory with a strong 6-2, 6-3 win. At #2 doubles, Brayden Noe and Roger Lara battled but came up short (3-6, 4-6). Dylan Herrejon and Javier Ulin continued to compete and gain valuable experience at #3 doubles, falling 0-6, 2-6.
While the final score didn't reflect the effort and growth shown on the court, the match provided an important early-season benchmark for the Hawks. With continued focus and development, Greenfield looks to build on its progress as the season moves forward.
