The Greenfield High School girls soccer team delivered an impressive all-around performance Tuesday night, rolling to an 8-0 victory over West Allis Central High School in a mercy-rule shortened match.
Greenfield came out firing early, with Mu Gha scoring the opening goal of the game to spark the Hawks' offense. The pressure continued throughout the first half as Natalia Andrus and Wendy Olmos Moran each added goals to give Greenfield a commanding 3-0 halftime lead. EddieAna Velez handled goalkeeping duties in the opening half and helped preserve the shutout.
The Hawks continued their offensive attack in the second half. EddieAna Velez scored after moving out of goal, while Wendy Olmos Moran and Gianna Herrera also found the back of the net. Another Greenfield goal came after a strong shot from Mu Gha resulted in an own goal by West Allis Central.
Marija Kosanovic capped off the night with the eighth and final goal to end the match early. Judea Sung stepped in as goalkeeper during the second half to combine with Velez on the shutout effort.
With contributions throughout the lineup, strong defensive play, and relentless offensive pressure, the Hawks put together one of their most complete performances of the season.
