In a matchup that served as more of a regional tournament tune-up than a must-win contest, the Greenfield boys' soccer team fell 3–0 to Wauwatosa West on Wednesday night. Both squads used the non-conference finale to test rotations, fine-tune tactics, and build momentum heading into next week's WIAA Regional Tournament.
Wauwatosa West struck late in the first half to take a 1–0 lead into the break. Greenfield battled back with a strong second-half push, generating several dangerous chances. Emanuel Rios and Vinny Ortega each challenged the Trojan keeper, while goalkeeper Enrique Lopez anchored the defense with several sharp saves to keep the Hawks within reach.
Tosa West managed to add two late goals in the 72nd and 79th minutes to seal the win, but the Hawks walked away with valuable experience, improved cohesion, and—most importantly—a healthy roster ready for the postseason stage.
