The Greenfield Girls Soccer team faced a tough test on the road at Shorewood, ultimately falling 0-7, but showing heart and grit as they continue to grow into a team of "Whole Game Warriors."
The Hawks found themselves in a difficult position early, conceding two goals within the first five minutes and trailing 0-3 at the half. Despite allowing four more in the second half, Greenfield responded with improved organization and execution following tactical adjustments at halftime.
Senior Jayda Benabe once again showcased her leadership and defensive composure, shutting down multiple counter attacks and serving as the Hawks' anchor in the back. Junior Marija Kosanovic earned praise from the opposing coach for her attacking presence and continued to be a bright spot for Greenfield.
While the stat sheet wasn't in the Hawks' favor — just two shots on target and seven saves by keeper Diane Daniels — the team's resilience and response to adversity remain encouraging as they work to turn competitive halves into complete performances.
