Greenfield Football Battles Grafton in High-Scoring Matchup

The Hustlin' Hawks delivered an all-out effort Friday night but came up short in a 66–33 road battle against undefeated Grafton. Despite the final score, Greenfield showcased explosive plays on both sides of the ball and proved they can strike quickly against top competition.

Offensive Highlights

Quarterback Luke O'Brien led the air attack with 213 passing yards and two touchdowns, connecting on 8 of 12 throws. Nolan Kranich added 9 yards through the air. Senior tight end Gavin StJohn was a major weapon, hauling in 2 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown, including a huge 64-yard strike. Bennett Bradley added 2 catches for 64 yards and a touchdown, while Brayden Ziarek caught 4 passes for 51 yards and freshman Peyton Briley contributed a 9-yard reception.

Greenfield's ground game was efficient as well. Senior Ian Litchford scored on a 29-yard rush, while Bradley (44 yards), Jose Garcia (43 yards and a touchdown), and Kranich (5 yards) combined for 130 team rushing yards.

Defensive and Special Teams Standouts

The Hawks defense kept fighting, highlighted by Sullivan McCann's 6.5 tackles (5 solo), Dylan Alba's 5.5 tackles, and Keegan Brylow's forced fumble. Gavin StJohn added a tackle for loss, and multiple players tallied key stops to slow Grafton's powerful offense.

Special teams brought sparks of their own. Nate Teicher recorded 60 return yards, Bennett Bradley added 77 yards on four returns, and freshman Peyton Briley posted a 20-yard kick return. Senior Brayden Ziarek handled kicking and punting duties, averaging 37.5 yards per punt and sending a kickoff for a touchback.

Moving Forward

The Hustlin' Hawks, now 5–2, remain in the thick of the conference race and will look to bounce back quickly. With a balanced offense, emerging young talent, and relentless defensive playmakers, Greenfield heads into the next matchup eager to turn Friday's lessons into future victories.
