Glacier Girls Hockey wrapped up a competitive week on the ice with a 1–2 record, showing resilience, strong goaltending, and timely scoring against quality opponents.
On Tuesday, January 6, the Glacier faced the Lakeshore Lightning at Ozaukee Ice Center, falling 3–1. Alyssa Panosh (Oak Creek, Sophomore) provided the scoring punch for the Glacier, with assists from Ella Vranak (Catholic Memorial, Senior) and Madeline Macleod (Waukesha West, Senior). Between the pipes, Zoey Smeiska (Wauwatosa East, Freshman) turned in an impressive performance, stopping 29 of 32 shots.
The Glacier bounced back on Friday, January 9, with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over the Badger Lightning in Baraboo. Trailing 2–1 entering the third period, the Glacier rallied with a pair of goals to secure the comeback win. Madeline Macleod led the charge with two goals, while Jemma Schultz (Chesterton Academy, Junior) added the game-winner. Ella Vranak and Dylan Savage (Menomonee Falls, Sophomore) each recorded assists, and Georgianna Janet (Brookfield Central, Junior) anchored the defense with 15 saves on 17 shots.
The week concluded on Saturday, January 10, with a 4–1 loss to the Arrowhead Warhawks. Deah Toska (Union Grove, Junior) found the back of the net for the Glacier, while Zoey Smeiska returned in goal and made 21 saves on 24 shots.
Despite the challenges, Glacier Girls Hockey continues to compete with energy and determination, building momentum as the season progresses.
