The Brookfield Glacier varsity girls hockey team faced a challenging two-game slate this week, showing resilience and competitive fire in both matchups.
On Tuesday night at the Ponds of Brookfield, the Glacier fell 5–2 to the Lakeshore Lightning. Junior Grace Eckert (Brookfield East) led the offense with two goals, continuing her strong season on the attack. Assists were credited to Ella Vranak (Waukesha Catholic Memorial, Sr.), Riley Piwowarczyk (Franklin, Fr.), and Deah Toska (Union Grove, Jr.). In net, junior goaltender Georgianna Janet (Brookfield Central) delivered a standout performance, turning away 41 of 45 shots to keep the Glacier competitive throughout the contest.
Saturday's road matchup against the Cap City Cougars resulted in a hard-fought 5–3 loss. The Glacier offense was balanced, with goals from Deah Toska, Grace Eckert, and Ella Vranak, who also added an assist. Additional assists came from Lindsey Mead (Menomonee Falls, Jr.) and Emily Lenz (Brookfield East, Fr.). Once again, Janet anchored the defense, making 38 saves on 43 shots.
Despite the results, Brookfield Glacier continues to demonstrate depth, determination, and strong goaltending as the team looks ahead to the next stretch of the season.
