The Brookfield Glacier girls hockey team faced a challenging slate this past week, taking on two strong opponents in the University School of Milwaukee Wildcats and the Fox Cities Stars. While the results didn't fall in the Glacier's favor, the team showed resilience, effort, and individual performances that stood out on the ice.
On Tuesday night at the Ponds of Brookfield, Glacier dropped a tightly contested 3–2 decision to University School of Milwaukee. Madeline MacLeod (Waukesha West, Sr.) and Emily Lenz (Brookfield East, Fr.) each found the back of the net for Glacier. Assists were recorded by Lindsey Mead (Menomonee Falls, Jr.), Grace Eckert (Brookfield East, Jr.), and Ella Vranak (Waukesha Catholic Memorial, Sr.). In net, Georgianna Janet (Brookfield Central, Jr.) delivered a strong performance, stopping 37 of 40 shots to keep Glacier within striking distance throughout the game.
Varsity returned to the ice Saturday at home against the Fox Cities Stars, falling 9–1 in a hard-fought matchup. Evelyn Groneck (Brookfield Central, Jr.) scored Glacier's lone goal, with Madeline MacLeod adding an assist. Once again, Janet was busy between the pipes, making 40 saves on 49 shots against a high-powered Stars offense.
Despite the outcomes, Glacier continues to gain valuable experience and shows depth across multiple schools and class levels. The team looks to build on these efforts as they move forward in conference play.
