The Glacier Girls Hockey varsity team finished the week 1-1, facing two strong opponents and continuing to show growth, grit, and depth across the lineup.
Monday, January 12 — Glacier vs. Fond du Lac Warbirds
Glacier opened the week on the road at the Blue Line Family Ice Center, falling 3-0 to the Fond du Lac Warbirds. Despite the shutout, goalie Georgianna Janet (Brookfield Central – Junior) kept the game competitive, turning aside 21 of 24 shots and making several key saves to give Glacier a chance throughout the night.
Saturday, January 17 — Glacier vs. Cap City Cougars
Back at home, Glacier battled in a high-energy matchup against the Cap City Cougars, dropping a close 4-2 decision. Glacier's offense came through with goals from Grace Eckert (Brookfield East – Junior) and Emily Lenz (Brookfield East – Freshman), showing the team's ability to generate scoring from multiple lines.
The Glacier attack was supported by strong playmaking, with assists credited to Evelyn Groneck (Brookfield Central – Junior), Ella Vranak (Catholic Memorial – Senior), and Deah Toska (Union Grove – Junior).
In net, Zoey Smeiska (Wauwatosa East – Freshman) delivered a solid performance, stopping 24 of 27 shots, keeping Glacier within striking distance all game long.

Even in a challenging week, Glacier showcased strong goal tending, balanced scoring, and continued contributions from student-athletes across multiple schools and grade levels. With every game, this group continues to build chemistry and compete with confidence against top competition.
