The Greenfield/Pius Girls Swim Team made waves at their home-hosted Hustlin' Popes Fall Frenzy Invitational on October 18, finishing 5th overall out of 11 teams in a highly competitive field.
Freshman Emersyn LePine led the way with a first-place finish in the 200 Individual Medley (2:17.33) and a runner-up finish in the 100 Breaststroke (1:09.26). Junior Piper Seehawer added key points with a 4th-place finish in the 100 Butterfly (1:04.64) and 6th in the 200 Freestyle (2:09.91), while senior Grace Pagel secured 7th in both the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly.
Freshman Jennifer Werth also had a standout day, finishing 5th in the 100 Backstroke (1:05.62) and 7th in the 500 Freestyle (6:00.57). The team capped the meet with a strong 3rd-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:51.91) and 4th in the 200 Medley Relay (1:59.26).
The Hustlin' Popes showed impressive depth and teamwork throughout the day, holding their own against several top programs from around the area.
