Greenfield Baseball Battles Hard in Matchup Against Eau Claire Memorial

The Greenfield Varsity Baseball team took the field on Friday, April 11, facing off against a strong Eau Claire Memorial squad. Despite a tough 10-0 loss, the Hawks showed flashes of grit and potential in a game that tested their resilience from the start.

Offensively, Greenfield recorded three hits on the day. Eli Francour led the way with a double and two stolen bases, continuing to be a spark at the plate and on the base paths. Jayden Valdez and Ethan Hanke each added a hit, with Hanke also swiping a base and contributing defensively in the infield.

On the mound, the Hawks spread the work across four pitchers. Elijah Hunt and Rex Giegerich started the game, with Alex Peacock and Mason Alms stepping in to finish. Alms delivered two solid innings, allowing only one run and striking out a batter.

Greenfield drew six walks at the plate, showing patience in the box but struggled to capitalize with runners on base. Despite the final score, the team's hustle and effort were evident, especially in moments like Francour's aggressive base running and strong outfield play.

As the Hawks regroup and look ahead to their next matchup, they'll continue building chemistry and sharpening execution. With young talent and determination, Greenfield Baseball remains focused on growth and bouncing back in the games to come.
