The Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks opened WIAA postseason play with a strong 8-4 victory over Waukesha South in Tuesday's regional semifinal matchup.
Greenfield set the tone early, scoring seven runs in the first two innings to build a commanding lead. The offense was firing on all cylinders, racking up 12 hits in total. Senior Sarah Mysliwy had a standout performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple. Cali Rodriguez was a spark in the leadoff spot with three hits and two runs scored, while Maya Hornung drove in two runs as part of a balanced offensive attack. Jasmine Lasky added to the firepower with a home run and also delivered a complete-game performance in the circle, striking out two and earning the win.
The Hustlin' Hawks will now travel to face #2 seed Sussex Hamilton in the WIAA Regional Final this Thursday. First pitch is set for 4:30 PM at Sussex Hamilton.
