The Greenfield Varsity Baseball team closed out Woodland East Conference play on Thursday night with a 6-1 loss to rival Whitnall. Despite the defeat, the Hawks finish the regular season as Co-Conference Champions, sharing the title with the Falcons after a hard-fought and competitive season.
Greenfield managed six hits on the night, including a two-hit performance from Rex Giegerich and singles from Bradyn Seidler, Brady Zimmer, Ethan Miszewski, and Nathan Wendricks. Elijah Hunt and Ethan Hanke combined for seven innings on the mound, striking out four.
The Hawks now shift their focus to the WIAA postseason, where they will open regional play on Tuesday, June 3rd at home. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM as Greenfield begins its quest for a deep playoff run.
