The Greenfield Varsity Hustlin' Hawks saw their postseason run come to an end Thursday night, falling 11-0 to Hamilton in a WIAA Regional matchup.
Despite a determined effort, the Hawks were unable to find offensive momentum, recording just one hit in the game. Greenfield held Hamilton scoreless through the first inning, but the Chargers steadily built a lead with consistent scoring in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings, totaling 13 hits.
Jasmine Lasky and Maya Hornung combined for 4.2 innings pitched, allowing 13 hits and 11 runs (10 earned), while issuing three walks. Offensively, Greenfield struggled at the plate, striking out 14 times against strong Hamilton pitching.
Naomi Kleczynski was hit by a pitch and added a stolen base, accounting for the Hawks' only baserunner.
The loss concludes the season for the Hustlin' Hawks, who showed heart and resilience throughout the year.
