Greenfield Varsity Baseball battled its way to an exciting 6–5 win over Waukesha North on Friday, April 10, using a balanced offensive attack and strong pitching down the stretch to secure the victory.
The Hawks jumped out early, scoring in three of the first four innings to take control of the game. Greenfield finished with six runs on six hits while showing excellent plate discipline, drawing 10 walks to consistently apply pressure.
Offensively, Chase Wallich set the tone with two runs scored, a hit, and an RBI, while Mason Alms, Ethan Miszewski, and Chase Eade each drove in key runs. Alms delivered extra-base power with three total bases, and Wallich and Miszewski added multiple-base performances to keep the lineup moving.
Greenfield also stayed aggressive on the bases, with runners creating opportunities and forcing defensive mistakes.
On the mound, the Hawks used a team effort to control the game. Mason Grafwallner was sharp early, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out three. Devin Ueberfluss added a clean inning in relief, keeping momentum on Greenfield's side.
Ethan Miszewski battled through the middle innings to earn the win, navigating key situations to keep the Hawks in front. Ethan Hanke closed the door late, earning the save and preserving the one-run victory.
