Greenfield varsity baseball earned a hard-fought 5–3 victory over Whitnall on Tuesday, using a decisive early inning and a complete team effort to secure the win.
The Hawks broke the game open in the second inning, plating four runs to take control early. That offensive burst proved to be the difference, as Greenfield combined timely hitting with disciplined at-bats, drawing seven walks and consistently creating scoring opportunities.
Leading the way offensively was Ethan Miszewski, who delivered a standout performance with two hits and three RBIs. His ability to come through in key moments gave the Hawks the spark they needed. Ethan Hanke added to the offense with a hit, a run scored, and extra-base power, continuing to apply pressure on Whitnall's pitching staff.
Additional contributions came from Chase Eade and Chase Wallich, who each recorded hits and helped keep innings alive. Brody Jens was effective at the top of the lineup, reaching base multiple times and driving in a run to set the tone offensively.
